Many of today’s non-automotive motorized vehicle manufacturers utilize automated welding cells in the production of frame assemblies and other components. Non- automotive manufacturers include: snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, compact excavators, riding lawn mowers, and utility carts to name a few. To produce these assemblies, tubes and plates are loaded into fixtures and clamped into place with hand clamps and inferior pneumatic actuators.
PHD offers a variety of pneu
matic clamps in several sizes that types that have been designed with this process in mind. The Series PA and PB Swing Arm clamps provide a 90° swing motion as they clamp down the parts for ease of fixture loading. The simple, compact design of these, long life clamps are available in several sizes to fit application requirements.
Another type, the PHD Series PEC Arm Over Clamps, is available in four sizes. The cam design of the PEC provides the widest range of high clamping force in their class and ensures part retention if air pressure is lost.
Also available are the Series PLK and PLKD Pin Locating Clamps. As the name implies, these clamps provide a pin/finger design that aligns locating holes in parts and holds them together during the welding process.

All of PHD’s workholding clamps are robust actuators; featuring enclosed mechanisms for protection from weld splatter, long life, superior performance, mounting choices, and weld field immune switches. PHD clamps offer the best delivery and the lowest cost in the industry.
